Understanding Error Messages

There are two types of error messages you might see when building hotspots or tooltips:

  1. 'Attached element isn't visible right now.' 
    This message will appear when you are placing a hotspot or tooltip on an element that isn't visible to your user upon immediate page load (ex. a dropdown menu, a pop out window without it's own URL, etc).
    You can still edit and publish a hotspot/tooltip flow with this message and it will work on your live site.
  2. 'Sorry! The attached element is not currently supported by Appcues. Please remove or reposition this hotspot.'
    If you see this message, the element you are trying to append your hotspot/tooltip to is not recognized as stable enough by Appcues to ensure that it will appear correctly for all your end users.
