Pro Tip: Schedule a Flow Start or Stop Time

When creating a flow, you’re able to define your audience experience using various targeting conditions, which allow you to personalize and guide user interaction with your flows. One unique condition you might include is one for customizing the start and/or stop date of a flow.

For instance, if you’re running a limited campaign, or have a deadline or expiration date attached to your content, you may want to set dates around the flow exposure so it will start and/or stop showing after specific dates.

To define an end date, open the flow settings for your desired flow and scroll down to the Audience section. From here, select 'Specific users' > 'Property' > 'Updated At' > 'occurred before' ---> {insert desired end date}.

The  Updated At property is automatically updated with the current time when a user in your application is identified by Appcues. This condition makes it so a user will be eligible to see this flow until they're identified on October 27th, 2021, which will change their Updated At property to match. They will then no longer be eligible to see this flow.

To define a start date, you can use the same logic using occurred after instead of occurred before. And if you'd like to create a date range during which time a flow will show, you can use a combination of these two conditions.

Save your changes and you should be good to go!
