Compare experience performance
Compare how all your experiences perform and find the ones that need work.
Table of Contents
The Experience analytics page compares every Flow, Banner, Pin, Embed, Checklist, Launchpad, and NPS survey in your account: how many users saw each one, completed it, dismissed it, and clicked something in it. Use it to spot the experiences that need work, then open one to see what happened at each step.
Open the Experience analytics page
- Click Experiences in the main navigation.
- Click Analytics in the Experiences sidebar. The Experience analytics page opens with your live experiences from the last 30 days.

Filter the page
Every number on the page follows the filters at the top.
- Date: choose Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 60 days, Last 90 days, or a custom range of up to 366 days. In the same control, group the chart by Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
- Type and Platform: narrow to one or more experience types, or to Web or Mobile. Mobile Flows and mobile Embeds have their own types, Mobile and Mobile Embed.
- Tag and Status: the page starts at Status is Live. Add Draft, Scheduled, Unpublished, Has unpublished changes, or Archived to include them.
- Add filter: filter by app, by who created or updated the experience, by created date, or by whether it's linked to a tactic.
- Search experiences: narrow the page by name as you type.
Click Reset filters to go back to live experiences on every platform.
Save a view
To keep a set of filters, click Save as view, enter a name, and click Create view. The view appears under Personal views in the Experiences sidebar and saves your filters, search, date range, columns, and sort order. To share a view with your team, use its menu in the sidebar to move it to Team views.

Read the summary
Four cards sit under the filters. Hover a card's title to see its definition.
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Live experiences | How many experiences match your filters, whether or not anyone saw them. |
| Users reached | Unique users shown any of these experiences. A user shown three experiences counts once. |
| Completion rate | Users who completed an experience, out of the users shown it. |
| Dismiss rate | Users who dismissed an experience, or skipped a legacy Flow or a Checklist, out of the users shown it. |
Completion isn't tracked for Banners, Pins, Launchpads, and Embeds, and dismissals aren't tracked for Launchpads and Embeds. The two rate cards leave those types out, so a page of only Banners shows N/A for Completion rate.
The Shown and completed chart plots unique users shown and completing per day, week, or month. With daily grouping, click All days to hide days such as weekends from the chart.

Find experiences that need attention
The Needs attention panel lists the three experiences with the highest dismiss rate. Click Completion to list the three with the lowest completion rate instead. Only experiences shown to at least 10% of Users reached qualify, so a Flow seen by a handful of users can't top the list. Click an experience to open its analytics.
An experience with no way to complete it shows 0% completion and always tops the completion ranking. If the panel isn't useful for your account, click the arrow to collapse it. It stays collapsed the next time you visit.

Compare experiences in the table
The Experiences table lists every matching experience, sorted by Shown. Click a column header to sort by it.
Click Columns to choose what the table shows:
| Column | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Impressions | Every time the experience was shown, including repeat views by the same user. |
| Shown | Unique users shown the experience. |
| Completed / Completion rate | Users who completed it, as a count and as a share of Shown. |
| Dismissed / Dismiss rate | Users who dismissed it, as a count and as a share of Shown. |
| Click-through rate | Users who clicked a button or link in it, out of Shown. |
| Type, Platform, Tag, Owner, Published | Details about the experience. |
Under each rate, a green or red figure such as ↑ 3.1 pts shows the change in percentage points from the previous period. A rate that didn't move shows no change figure. N/A means the type doesn't track that metric. A dash means nobody was shown the experience.

Click an experience's name to open its Analytics page, with the same date range. See Analyze a single experience for what the page shows.
See the users behind a number
Click View users on a summary card, a point on the chart, or a number in the table to open the list of users behind it. From the list, add user properties as columns, click Download users CSV, or click Ask Appcues AI to ask about those users.

Export data
- Click Export CSV at the top of the page to download the table as you see it, with your filters, columns, and sort order.
- Click a card's menu (⋮) and choose Download CSV or Download PNG to export one card or chart. Choose Explain this chart to have Appcues AI explain what it shows.

If the numbers look wrong
- A rate shows N/A. The experience type doesn't track that metric. Completion isn't tracked for Banners, Pins, Launchpads, and Embeds; dismissals aren't tracked for Launchpads and Embeds.
- The summary rate doesn't match the table. The summary cards leave out types that don't track a metric, and the table rates use each experience's own Shown.
- Users reached is lower than the total shown. Users reached counts each user once, however many experiences they saw. The total under it counts each experience separately.
- An experience is missing. The page starts with live experiences only. Change the Status filter, or click Reset filters if a filter is hiding it.
