Recruit users for conducting user interviews

With Appcues you’ll be able to recruit users, in your application, to conduct user interviews. These user interviews can be to gather feedback on an existing feature, or new feature or understand the overall experience the user is having at that particular point in time.

What functionality of Appcues can you use to create these recruitment experiences?

Flows

The Slideout pattern is perfect for non-intrusive announcements that let your users decide whether they want to commit further or not. Is a great way to nudge your users and allow them to decide if they want to participate in your user interview.

You can also add custom buttons within the Slideout and track the engagement of users who are responding “yes” to participating in the user interview.

Pins

Pins are a persistent experience that provides your users with access to key valuable information at all times, as long as they’re eligible to see the Pins.

You can use the “Icon with Tooltip” pattern within a Pin to allow the user to expand the Pin’s content either by clicking or hovering. Once expanded, you can have a custom button that’s set to send the user to a specific URL if they want to participate in your user interview.

These custom buttons are trackable for you to monitor user interaction. Additionally, you can use the interaction with this button as the audience targeting to stop showing the Pin to users who actually interact with the button.

Pulse surveys

Privy asks for feedback on their onboarding program and a quick source question to learn more about their folks.

A star-studded survey

Another example from Privy. They use their own unique brand voice and style to ask their users how they feel about the product.

Surveys you want to take

Getting feedback isn’t easy, but this survey by Copper invites a click, with pretty, familiar iconography and fun use of emojis. The callout of the survey duration lowers the hesitation of commitment from the user and clearly stating what the survey is looking to improve in the product communicates to the user exactly where the survey will focus on.

Flows

The Slideout pattern is perfect for non-intrusive announcements, like surveys, that let your users decide whether they want to commit further or not. Is a great way to nudge your users and allow them to decide if they want to participate and answer your survey questions.

You can also add custom buttons within the Slideout and track the engagement of users who are clicking the “Start Survey” and “Submit Survey” buttons.

Pins

Pins are a persistent experience that provides your users with access to key valuable information at all times, as long as they’re eligible to see the Pins.

You can use the “Icon with Tooltip” pattern within a Pin to allow the user to expand the Pin’s content either by clicking or hovering. Once expanded, you can have a custom button that’s set to trigger a flow to show the survey to the user.

These custom buttons are trackable for you to monitor user interaction. Additionally, you can use the interaction with this button as the audience targeting to stop showing the Pin to users who actually interact with the “Submit” button in the Flow.
