Purpose of this Guide

The checklist below enables you to verify that you have reviewed all of our most highly recommended materials as a new user of Appcues. Completing each item will set you up for success in building your Appcues experiences! A PDF version of this guide is linked at the bottom of the page as well.

Appcues Foundations

•  Appcues University - Our learning and training platform to walk you through Appcues and highlight helpful features, tools, and use cases
•  Best Practices - Our recommendations when creating your flows
•  Appcues Integrations - Connecting your data to your tech stack adds value to your Appcues experiences as well as to your other tools
•  Manage your Team and Account - It's important to consider how your team, and your flows, will stay organized in a way that's clear and makes sense

• Check in on your existing content to keep it up to date with any UI changes, new properties or events* (*may require Developer involvement), and ensure alignment with your product goals

Plan, Build, and Publish

•  Plan - Identify the Appcues use case(s) you would like to build. What is it's purpose? Who should see it? When and where should they see it?

• Use Case Docs & Appcues UX Blog

•  Build - Use the Appcues Builder to create your first user experience(s)! (Flows, Pins, and Banners)

• Building Web Experiences Docs

•  Publish - Finalize your settings in Appcues and publish to your users!

• Targeting Docs - Provide your users with the most value by showing them the right content at the right time.

Measure Your Success

•  Create and review Goals and Control Experiments to measure your users' engagement and resulting actions
•  Review your Appcues metrics to determine your flows' success and possible drop-off points and evolve your experiences

• Goals - Measure how your flows are influencing user behaviors - including activation moments, feature adoption, upgrades, and more.
• Control Experiments - Analyze the success of a flow against a control group.
• Flow Analytics - Metrics per flow showing your key flow events over time, by date, in your local time zone.
• Events Explorer - Analysis and monitoring of product event data along with Appcues Flow and Checklist data for a dynamic reporting experience
