Add a User who Completes a Flow to a HubSpot List
Learn how to create a list in HubSpot that will automatically update with the Contacts that have completed a specific Appcues Flow.
Table of Contents
Using our HubSpot integration, you can create a list in HubSpot that will automatically update with the Contacts that have completed a specific Appcues Flow. You can then use that list to do things like send marketing emails, enroll those contacts in a workflow, or use it as a filter in a custom report.
Pre-requisites:
- Appcues plan that includes the Appcues<>HubSpot Integration (Growth, Enterprise, or Add-On)
- A HubSpot Account with CRM (any paid plan)
- The Appcues -> HubSpot integration must be enabled and at least one flow event will need to have been passed to HubSpot via the integration. (This could be done by publishing a test flow and setting up an example Contact in HubSpot for your own test user.)
Build Guide
Step 1: Create a New List
In HubSpot, navigate to the “Contacts” menu in the main navigation bar and select “Lists”.
Click on the “Create List” button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, then select “Contact-based” as the list type, enter a name for your list, and select “Active List”. Then click the “Next” button in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Add Your List Filters
Click on “Add filter” and then search for Appcues as the filter category. Select “Appcues” under the “Integration filters”, then “Appcues: Flow Event Properties”.
You will then see a list of flow property types that you can utilize to set up the filters for your list.
Next, you will need to set up two filters for the list to work correctly:
- The first filter should be “Event Type is any of Flow Completed”.
- The second filter should be “Event description contains any of {{Flow Name}}”.
With these two filters, only Contacts that have Appcues “flow completed” events for the flow name that was specified will be added to the list.
Once your filters have been created, click “Save List”. Your List is now set up and ready for use!
Using Your List
As mentioned above, you can then use that list to do things like send marketing emails, enroll those contacts in a workflow, or use it as a filter in a custom report.
