FAQ: Required Cookies

Most every website and app involves cookies these days. However, when it comes to cookies required for Appcues to work for your users, Appcues only stores one particular cookie, apc_next_content_id, and that is temporary.

When a new flow is configured to be triggered after a page redirect from another flow, then Appcues stores the ID of this second flow in this cookie so it knows the ID of the flow to show when the redirect is complete. We then remove this cookie, so it is very short-lived. For more on linking flows, check out our documentation here.

We do not use cookies, local storage, flash, HTML5, or any other technology to attempt to track your users across the web, or between different sites. We rely entirely on the user ID you provide through your Javascript install snippet to identify your users.
