Find and manage experiences
Search, filter, organize, clone, and archive every experience in your account.
Table of Contents
The Experiences page lists every Flow, Embed, Banner, Pin, Checklist, Launchpad, NPS survey, and mobile experience in your account. Use it to find an experience, organize your library with tags and saved views, and clone, archive, or open any experience. Some teams call this the experience library or dashboard.
To publish, schedule, or unpublish an experience, see Publish, schedule, and unpublish an experience.
Open the Experiences page
Click Experiences in the left sidebar. All experiences opens, showing every experience in your account.
The sidebar on this page has:
- All experiences and Recently created, which shows experiences created in the last 7 days.
- Analytics, which compares how every experience performed. See Compare experience performance.
- Issues, which lists steps that couldn't show to your users.
- Personal views and Team views, the views you and your team saved.

Read an experience card
Each card shows the experience's thumbnail, name, description, type, and tags, plus a status:
- Draft: never published.
- Live: published and showing to users who qualify.
- Unpublished changes: live, with edits that aren't live yet.
- Scheduled: set to publish or unpublish at a set time.
- Archived: unpublished and set aside.
Click a live experience to open its analytics. Click any other experience to open its editor.
Search and filter
Type in Search experiences to find an experience by name.
Use the filters above the list to narrow it:
- Type: one or more experience types.
- Tag: one or more tags.
- Status: Draft, Scheduled, Unpublished, Has unpublished changes, or Archived.
Click Add filter for more:
- App: the web or mobile app the experience runs in.
- Tactic membership: experiences Linked or Not linked to a campaign tactic.
- Created date, created by, or last updated by.
If nothing matches, the list says so. Clear a filter or the search to see more.

Save a view
A view saves a set of filters, such as "Live onboarding Flows" or "My drafts", so you can open it from the sidebar.
- Set the filters and search you want.
- Click Save view. A dialog opens.
- Enter a name for the view.
- Click Create view. The view appears under Personal views. Only you can see it.

To share a personal view, open its menu in the sidebar and choose Make team view. Everyone in your account can then see it. You can't make a team view personal again.
To rename or delete a view, open its menu in the sidebar and choose Rename or Delete.

Act on an experience
Click the menu (⋮) on an experience card. The menu shows only the actions that apply to that experience:
- Edit experience: opens the editor.
- Edit in extension: opens the experience in the Appcues Builder Chrome extension.
- View analytics: opens the experience's analytics.
- Edit settings: opens its settings. See Configure an experience's settings.
- Edit tags: adds or removes tags.
- Permalink: copies a link that shows the Flow to whoever opens it. Live Flows with a Build URL only. See Use Permalinks.
- Clone: makes a copy.
- Publish, Push changes, Unpublish, or Discard changes: see Publish, schedule, and unpublish an experience.
- Archive or Unarchive.
If an action is greyed out, hover over it to see why. For example, archived experiences can't be edited.

Where each type opens
Where you edit an experience depends on its type:
- Flows, Embeds, Launchpads, and NPS surveys open in the builder in the Appcues App.
- Pins, Banners, and legacy Flows open in the Appcues Builder Chrome extension, on your own site. Flows and Embeds can also open there with Edit in extension.
- Checklists open on their settings page, which is also where you build them.
- Mobile experiences open in the mobile builder.
- Legacy NPS surveys open in Appcues Studio.
Create an experience
To build an experience with Appcues AI, see Create an experience with Appcues AI. To start one yourself:
- Click New experience at the top of the Experiences page.
- Choose Web or Mobile.
- Choose the experience type.
- Enter a name and the page URL to build on. For mobile, choose the app.
- Optionally, pick a Campaign Tactic to add the experience to.
- Finish the steps. The experience is created as a draft and opens in its builder.
Clone an experience
- Click the menu (⋮) on the experience card.
- Click Clone. A copy is created as a new draft with its own ID.
For a mobile experience, a Duplicate experience dialog asks which app the copy is for and what to name it.
A clone is a new experience, so users who saw the original can see the clone. To show an experience again to users who already saw it, clone it and publish the clone.
Organize with tags
Tags label experiences by team, feature, audience, language, or anything else, so you can filter by them and save views of them.
- Click the menu (⋮) on the experience card.
- Click Edit tags.
- Select existing tags, or type a new tag name to create one. The tags show on the card as
#tagname.
You can also add tags in the experience's Settings tab. Checklists and legacy NPS surveys can't be tagged.
Tags and saved views replace the folders in Appcues Studio.

Archive and unarchive
Archiving unpublishes an experience if it's live and moves it out of the default list. Archived experiences can't be edited, re-tagged, or have their settings changed.
- Click the menu (⋮) on the experience card.
- Click Archive, then confirm. The experience shows Archived.
To bring it back, filter Status by Archived, open the card's menu, and click Unarchive.
Archiving and unarchiving need the Admin or Publisher role. Legacy NPS surveys can't be archived.
Find the experience ID
You need the ID to show an experience with the JavaScript API.
- Open the experience.
- Click Settings.
- Scroll to Who changed this and click the copy icon next to Experience ID.
The ID is also in the experience's URL.

Rename or describe an experience
Change the name, display name, description, or Build URL in the Details section of the experience's Settings tab. See Configure an experience's settings.
Limits
- Actions apply to one experience at a time. There's no bulk select.
- You can't delete an experience in the Appcues App. Archive it instead.
If you can't find an experience
- Check that no filter or saved view is hiding it. Go back to All experiences and clear the search.
- Archived experiences are hidden until you filter Status by Archived.
- If you still can't find it, contact support with the experience's name and roughly when it was created.
