Hotjar Integration
Connect with Hotjar to send Appcues events in recorded user sessions.

Are you recording user sessions and doing product analytics on Hotjar? With our integration, you can send Appcues events to Hotjar, so that they are included in user sessions.
Enable Hotjar on your integrations page by clicking on on the Hotjar card and selecting Connect.
Appcues events appear in the Hotjar recording timeline on a general level, such as Flow Completed, Flow Started, Step Skipped, etc.
Appcues experiences in the Hotjar recording
Hotjar blocks all third-party iFrames from appearing in the visual portion of the recording. While certain workarounds exist to display iFramed content, changes both in Appcues code and your site's code would be required. Additionally, the code change required would disable javascript functionality in the iFrame, effectively breaking the functionality of Appcues Flows and other experiences. As a result, Appcues Flows and Checklists will appear as disabled blocks within your Hotjar recordings.
What data is sent from Appcues to Hotjar?
The following events are sent from Appcues to Hotjar when the integration is enabled: flow events, form events, NPS events, checklist events, pin events, and custom events.
