Capture a screenshot of a screen in your app and use it in the Mobile Builder. A captured screen serves as a background so you can position steps against the real UI, and it's what lets anchored Tooltips find the on-screen elements you want to target.

                    Prerequisites

                    • The Appcues Mobile SDK set up in your app.
                    • Deep linking configured. See Configure Mobile Deep Links.

                    Capture a screenshot

                    1. Select a step in a mobile experience, or create one and add a step.
                    2. Click the Screen Capture icon.

                    3. Click the Screen capture button.

                    4. Scan the QR code, or open the link on a mobile device with your app installed.

                    5. The capture button appears in your app. Navigate to the screen you want and press it.

                    6. Confirm the screenshot, update its name if needed, and press Send to builder.
                      Confirm and send the screenshot
                    7. Back in the Mobile Builder, exit the QR view. Your new screenshot appears in the list.

Set a screenshot on a step

                    1. Click the Screen Capture icon to open the screenshot list.
                    2. Select a screenshot to associate it with the current step group. The screenshot becomes the background for that step and any steps grouped with it.

                    Manage screenshots

                    Screenshot management modal
                    • Rename — click the three dots next to a screenshot, select Rename, enter the new name, and click the check mark.
                    • Archive — click the three dots and select Archive. This removes it from the default list and from its step group.
                    • Restore — click the file icon to view archived screenshots, click the three dots, and select Restore.
                    • Delete — archive the screenshot first, open the archived view, click the three dots, and select Delete. This permanently deletes it.

                    Confirm it worked

                    • The captured screen appears in the screenshot list.
                    • After you set it on a step, it shows as the step's background in the builder preview.

                    If your screenshot doesn't appear

                    • Nothing happens after you scan the QR code. Confirm the SDK is installed and deep linking is configured, then retry the capture.
                    • The capture doesn't reach the builder. Make sure the device is running the app the experience is built for, and that you pressed Send to builder.
